---LAND RULES - Only animals that are known to claim land in real life, such as bears, big cats, wolves, etc. are able to do so.
- Animals that are known to roam in real life are NOT allowed to claim land and will instead roam through their biome.
- Just because one animal/one group has already claimed the land doesn't mean that your can't live there! A land can be claimed by one group so that they are the only group o their species. For example, let's say that there is a large area of good, prey-rich savannah territory. A lion pride can claim and live on it, as well a male cheetah coalition. A few female cheetahs may have overlapping home ranges there, as may a few leopardesses.
- The quality of the land may go down if there are too many animals with established territories living there. NPC prey populations may go down or move away if there are too many predators living in an area, so be careful when picking where your character lives!
- A particular animal's or group's claim on a land may be challenged for. For example, let's say there's a pride of lions living on a piece land led by an elderly male lion. A rogue male lion notices that the pride male is weak and decides to challenge for leadership of the pride. If he wins, he takes control of the pride and all the females living there. His taking over of the pride, however, does not affect the other species groups or animals living in the area.
- If a new leader has taken over, his land claim cannot be challenged for two real life weeks.
- If a leader has been challenged for land control and has defeated the challenger, he cannot be challenged for two real life weeks.

---GROUP RULES - When forming a group, do your research about group formation! Some species will form groups that are mostly female or mostly male, or have groups based on sex that come together only during breeding season. Some groups will be a harem structure with one or two usually related males and several females, while others will be a family group.
